Christopher Marlowe, the renowned playwright and a close friend of Shakespeare, left a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of London. Known for his sharp wit and fiery spirit, he was a bit of a street fighter, Marlowe was once arrested and imprisoned in this very neighbourhood. While his famous plays brought people together just down the road, at the iconic Curtain Theatre.
